FamilyGetaway.com sells travel packages that include accommodations for a specified number of nights and travelers, plus additional amenities such as meals, airport transfers, or activities (each package is different and there's lots of variety).
There are two ways to buy travel on our website - Auctions and Buy Now offers. Many FamilyGetaway.com travel packages have both options available. Before you decide which choice to make, click below to see the full details and rules for each option.
1. Auctions
Bid on a package without choosing specific dates, then use it anytime during its valid period for travel. We'll help you book reservations as soon as you win, or whenever you decide you're ready to choose dates. Auctions are our best deals and present opportunities to get the absolute lowest prices, but it's best to be flexible with your travel dates.
2. Buy Now Offers
Enter your specific dates first for a package, then we'll help make the reservations. You only pay if your dates are available. Buy Now offers are priced slightly higher than Auctions, but the benefit is securing your dates before you buy.
It's free to register on FamilyGetaway.com, and takes only a few minutes. If you already have an account on Luxury Link, you don't need an additional one for FamilyGetaway.com because both websites operate through the same information system. Registering is the only way to participate in Auctions or request Buy Now offers. Just use the Sign-In or Register links at the top of the page. Or follow the registration instructions that appear on your screen when you enter and place a bid.
Here are the basics about registering with FamilyGetaway.com:
- Your valid email address and contact information are important, and will be used to send package details and reservation confirmations when you purchase travel. Your information won't be used for undisclosed reasons and it won't be sold for marketing purposes.
- FamilyGetaway.com only requires you enter your credit card information if are bidding on an Auction or requesting a Buy Now package.
- You must register before you can bid on any Auction or request any Buy Now package.
- Your username will be displayed to everyone when you bid on FamilyGetaway.com packages. It will also appear on posts you make to the Community. Be sure to choose your username wisely.
- Registering gives you the opportunity to participate in contests and share on our Community, so get started now!
By accessing the My Account section when you are logged in, you can track Auctions and Buy Now offers in which you're participating.
Manage your email subscriptions by clicking on Update Account Info.
You can also use the Update Account Info section to edit your contact information or add a credit card to your account.

Single Auctions have just one package for sale, with a single auction winner.
Dutch Auctions feature two packages for sale, and can have two winners. At the auction close, the two highest bidders win. Both winners pay the amount of the lower of the two winning bids.
Best Shot Auctions™ feature three or more packages, and can have multiple winners. The exact number of potential winners will be indicated in the auction's details. You may only submit one bid (your "Best Shot") and you won't be able to see what anyone else has bid. At the auction close, the highest bidders all win, and pay the amount of the lowest of the winning bids.
Mystery Auctions are like Single Auctions, only the exact location of the hotel is unknown. Automatic bidding does not apply for Mystery Auctions - this means you must enter single bids, not your maximum bid. Only the winner finds out where the hotel is, after the auction is over.
It's easy for anyone to place a bid. Just follow these steps.
- Once you're a registered FamilyGetaway member, carefully review the package and its valid travel dates. Make sure you read the Booking Conditions for any applicable restrictions or fees.
- Enter your maximum bid in the box on the page and click the Place Bid button. FamilyGetaway will automatically bid against other bidders on your behalf, all the way up to the maximum amount you entered. (The minimum amount you may enter is indicated just beneath the bid box). Exception: Mystery Auctions do not qualify for automatic bidding--if you receive an outbid notice, you must manually update your bid.
- You'll be prompted to enter your credit card information if we don't already have it on file. Remember, each bid you place is a binding agreement, and if you win the Auction you're obligated to purchase the package. In the event you submit your dates within 7 days of purchase and we are unable to secure your requested dates, we can refund of your charges on any auction package that you've won. Cancellation requests must be received within 7 days of the auction closing date, no exceptions. Our Risk-Free Buying refund policy does not apply to Mystery Auctions. Simply contact customer service at 1-877-372-5877 and we will take care of everything.
You'll receive an email confirming your bid. If you're the highest bidder at the close of the auction, you will get another email indicating you are the winner, and it will outline the next steps.
In order to allow everyone a chance to place last-minute bids, all auction close times will automatically extend by 5 minutes should a bid be placed within 5 minutes of the set close time. If you have any questions regarding this policy, please contact us for assistance.

- All packages are subject to availability.
- For all FamilyGetaway.com Auction packages, there is no guarantee prior to purchasing your package that your primary choices for travel dates will be available. We will do our best to help you confirm the dates you want when we help you with your reservation. Remember, Auctions are opportunities to get our best deals, and it's best to be flexible with your travel dates in return.
- Remember, each bid you place is a binding agreement, and if you win the Auction you're obligated to purchase the package. In the event that you submit your dates within 7 days of purchase and we are unable to secure your requested dates, we can refund of your charges on any auction package that you’ve won. Cancellation requests must be received within 7 days of the auction closing date, no exceptions. Our Risk-Free Buying refund policy does not apply to Mystery Auctions. You are responsible for passports, visas, health requirements and travel insurance. FamilyGetaway.com is not responsible for researching or obtaining passport, visa or health requirements. You are fully accountable for obtaining all documents and immunizations necessary to complete your travel. Keep in mind that requirements often vary for citizens of different countries. Make sure to gather information well in advance.
Packages may not be resold without expressed permission from FamilyGetaway.com.
Packages may not be combined with other promotions offered by third parties or the hotel itself.
A credit card may be required upon check-in to cover any incidental room charges or for security purposes.
FamilyGetaway.com guarantees the package inclusions.
Once you purchase a package, your email receipt will restate the specific items included, exactly as they appeared on FamilyGetaway.com. We guarantee that when you travel you will receive everything to which your package entitles you. You're not required to pay the property an additional amount for the inclusions of your package, unless otherwise stated in the package's terms.
Some package inclusions - such as airport transfers, spa appointments and dinner reservations - require advance reservations. It's important that you contact the hotel directly prior to traveling to make these arrangements. Although FamilyGetaway.com is responsible for coordinating the reservation of your travel dates, it is up to you to make any necessary reservations for specific activities or services.
Any unused portion of a package is not refundable. All package inclusions must be used at time of travel, unless otherwise noted.
A credit card may be required upon check-in to cover any incidental room charges or for security purposes.

Retail value is based on a property's standard room or package rates at the time we first publish our offer. All you have to do is call our friendly Travel Concierge at 1-877-372-5877 and they will take care of everything. Money back guarantee does not apply to Mystery Auctions. Full refund excludes the $40 handling fee.
A Buy Now offers means you don't have to bid to purchase the travel packages. Instead, you submit your desired dates to FamilyGetaway.com, and we work with the hotel to confirm your reservation.
- Once you're a registered FamilyGetaway.com member, carefully review the package and its valid travel dates. Make sure you read the Booking Conditions for any applicable restrictions or fees.
- Enter your travel dates in the fields provided. You can also enter alternate dates if you'd like. Then click the Submit button.
- You'll be prompted to enter your credit card information if we don't already have it on file. We will only charge your card if the primary dates you entered are available for the package to be booked. Entering alternate dates allows us to check on a second choice should your primary dates be unavailable (we'll contact you before confirming alternate date reservations).

Q. How do I register?
A. From our home page, simply click on the REGISTER link on the upper right, and fill in your information in the spaces provided. Please be sure to make a note of your username and password for future reference. Be certain to safeguard your password from unauthorized use. You will be responsible for bids placed using your username and password.
Q. How do I access "My Account"?
A. Your customized "My Account" page provides links to "Update Account Info" or "Update Preferences". Simply click on the appropriate link. "Update Account Info" includes Personal Information, Shipping Information, or Billing Information/Credit Card Information. "Update Preferences" includes all your favorite destination, travel styles, or other preferences.
Q. How are "Buy Now" Offers different from Auctions?
A. The 'Buy Now' package offers can be purchased at a fixed price without bidding. They also provide greater flexibility and less risk as the packages are only billed after the travel dates are validated. They are usually refundable based on property approval. Auctions on the other hand, usually start at up to 65% off retail prices and provide the excitement of bidding in the attempt to win the best deal possible. Auctions are not refundable and dates are booked after the auction is closed and the transaction completed.
Q. What flexibility in travel dates exists with the Auctions?
A. When Auctions are created, the validity date ranges are purposely set very wide in order to accommodate the largest audience. Should your preferred date range be narrow, it is highly recommended you contact the property and validate availability BEFORE making a bid. Neither Luxury Link nor the property can guarantee that specific travel dates will still be available when the auction closes, but you can get a good idea of availability by asking how many rooms are open in your preferred date range. Be sure to mention the type of room that is included in the auction. Once you win the Auction, reservations are made through the Luxury Link Travel Concierge.
